Located on one of the most beautiful coasts in the north-east of Madeira, this hotel is surrounded by breathtaking landscapes of the sea and the volcanic mountains.
Costa Linda is located on the seafront side of the village of Porto da Cruz, where you can enjoy a public swimming pool of sea water, located in the bay about to 30 meters from the hotel. If you prefer a beach, there is one approximately 100 metres away. This is one of the few sand beaches on the island and is considered by many as one of the best beaches for the practice of surfing.
At Hotel Costa Linda, you can rest and enjoy both the sea and the mountains from the balcony of your room. If you prefer you can also sit down and chat or read in our common living room with a fabulous view overlooking the sea. The village has a pedestrian path, ideal for walking or running. This route surrounds the Pico, which is a small mountain. On its top you can still see the ancient ruins of an old fort that had been built in 1708 and was used as a point of watches to avoid invasions. In year 1804, the fort was demolished and now only remains there the original walls of basalt grey.
Nearby there is also small playgrounds for children to play, a small supermarket, pharmacy, post office, bank and a bus stop.
Other places of interest include churches, the sugar cane mill and the water channel of Levada do Castelejo. Costa Linda was built in the ruins of an ancient sugar cane mill. The land that was once used for sugar cane is now used for vineyards.
At the hotel you can see some photos of wine and vine, because Porto da Cruz is a region where several varieties of grapes are grown.
The walls of the restaurant are the original walls of the old mill. The inside features traditional Portuguese paved flooring.
